Our Annual Shred Event is taking place Saturday, April 17th!
Join us from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm and bring your personal paper shred only. Our team will be ready and waiting, in our 9277 W. Alameda Avenue parking lot, to help shred your personal documents! We ask that you limit your shred to the equivalent of two 55 gallon trash bags worth of documents you need to dispose of securely.
Stay Safe! Stay in your car and let us do the heavy lifting! Our gloved and masked shred assistants will gather your shred from your vehicle and put it in the shred truck bins. From there it will be shredded right in the parking lot! Please be courteous of other vehicles while you wait in the line that forms around several blocks of the surrounding neighborhood. We will have three trucks onsite which will help keep the line moving along. Please view the Shred Event Map/Route. Sticking to this route helps to better accommodate the high number of vehicles that attend the event.
BEFORE YOU PACK – PLEASE NOTE:
We can only accept:
Paper materials to shred; regular paper, newspapers, blueprints, magazines, brochures, mail – including window envelopes, photographs, file folders.
We cannot accept:
Paper Exceptions: cardboard (ie. boxes), telephone books, hardcover books.
Plastics: plastic bags and packing materials, CDs, DVDs, VCR tapes, transparencies, ID badges or Driver’s Licenses, microfilm or X-rays.
Hardware: Computer parts, electronics, printer or photocopy parts, trash or hazardous materials. Metals: Binders, hanging folders, large clips.
Liquids: Of any kind.

We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to succeed; unfortunately college can be expensive! One way Credit Union of Denver has been serving our community is through our annual Scholarship opportunity. We have been awarding scholarships to our younger members for many years and this year is no exception. C∙U∙D will be awarding four (4) $2,500 scholarships in 2021!
Applicants will need to follow the steps on the application process and submit their paperwork to the Scholarship Committee by the close of business on Monday, June 14, 2021. After the committee has narrowed down the entries and voted to establish the final four, we will contact and post the winners on the website no later than Friday, July 23, 2021.
Please share this with your friends and family members who may be looking for scholarship money to alleviate the pinch in their budget. We welcome new members and especially love it when our members refer their family and friends.

We are happy to announce that our members have helped raise $8,885.00 from donations and sales of our 2021 Pet Calendar. This is a new record!
All of these proceeds will directly benefit Foothills Animal Shelter in Golden. They are grateful for your continued support, as they have seen a big increase in relinquished pets due to financial hardships during this time. Thank you so much for your continued support!
Thank you to all the members and community photo contributions that made our 2021 calendar so awesome! This calendar is truly a labor of love of animals. Our staff loves to help feature our furry friends each year to support our local animal shelter. Thank you for helping us raise the much needed funds it takes to operate and care for the animals that find their way to the Foothills Animal Shelter.
We have highlighted stories, or Happy Tails, on each month in the calendar, showing how the shelter helps animals and impacts our community in a positive way.
One such story is about Waffle.
Here is what his owners had to say about him: “I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping Waffle find me. He’s the biggest sweetheart on EARTH and his favorite thing to do is just hang out on my bed and nap. He’s an absolute angel, thank you so much for taking him in and helping us find each other!”

Foothills Animal Shelter is an open-admissions facility, which means we never turn away an animal. We care for more than 9,200 orphaned cats, kittens, dogs, puppies and critters every year with a compassionate team of staff and volunteers. (Unfortunately, we cannot accept wild animals; they should be taken to organizations that specialize in their care.) We are a true community resource and offer a variety of services including pet adoption, Jefferson County pet licensing, affordable spaying and neutering, vaccinations, micro chipping and lost and found pets. We are committed to our important mission and the life-saving work that we do every day of the year.

So far, Credit Union of Denver members and our community have donated a total of $130,108.67 to Foothills Animal Shelter. Our hope is to continue this tradition for years to come. Below are some of the previous calendar’s cover pets!

Over the past 23 years, credit unions have raised an incredible $185 million. Credit unions raise funds by engaging their communities, members, and employees. This has allowed them to make an immense impact for millions of children every single year. 100% of the donations go directly to the children’s hospital in your community.
Yet, our fight to end childhood illness is not over. We still need you. Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals are treating over 10 million children a year, and on behalf of these kids and their families please consider making a donation.
