Apples Coffee Cup Fall Season

Our first recipe for our October Recipe Thursday series is perfect for the Fall Season. The following recipe was submitted by Debbie in our Marketing Department. This Apple Cobbler recipe is from a cookbook that was handed down within her family and is the best Apple Cobbler ever! We have witnesses who can attest to this statement. It is better than apple pie!

 

Apple Cobbler

4 cups   Apples, peeled, cored and chopped

1 cup     Flour

1 tsp.     Baking Powder

¼ tsp.    Salt

½ cup    Milk

½ stick   Butter or margarine

¾ cup    Sugar

Cinnamon

Nutmeg

Prepare apples and place in 8 inch square Pryex pan. Sprinkle lightly with cinnamon and nutmeg. Cream butter or margarine and sugar together. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Pour batter over apples.

 

Topping

¾ cup    Sugar

1 Tbsp.  Cornstarch

¼ tsp.    Salt

1 cup     Boiling water

½ tsp.    Cinnamon

Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt together. Sprinkle over batter. Pour boiling water over all. Bake 60 to 70 minutes at 350. Serve warm with ice cream.
