What are they and why it’s important to know…

The main branch for Credit Union of Denver is located in Lakewood, Colorado, but we have members all over the United States. It is important to us that the members living thousands of miles away find the credit union to be just as convenient as those members living in Lakewood. In an effort to be as convenient as possible for our members, Credit Union of Denver chooses to participate in the Shared Branch Network (CO-OP Network). Belonging to this network provides our members access to 3,500 credit unions, with 5,600 branches and more than 30,000 free ATMs nationwide. This means, our members can visit another credit union that participates in the Shared Branch Network to make deposits, withdrawals or loan payments on their Credit Union of Denver accounts.

How do I find a Shared Branch near me?

We have a Shared Branch Locator available on our website, which will allow you to search for an ATM or Shared Branch with as little as a zip code. The Shared Branch Network also offers a COOP ATM Shared Branch Locator App available for iPhone or Android. This app will show the Shared Branches closest to your current location and provide a search tool to find a convenient branch to a location you will visit later. You can also text your zip code to 91989 and quickly receive a list of the closest free ATMs and Shared Branch locations (standard data/SMS fees from your mobile carrier may apply).

When using a Shared Branch it is necessary to know your account number because the Shared Branch Teller doesn’t have the access to look it up for you. They will also need to see a valid photo ID prior to processing transactions. Below is a list of transactions they can process and requests they aren’t able to assist with.

Can Do….

  • Deposits (Check deposits are subject to a 2 business day hold)
  • Withdrawals (Shared Branch has right to limit cash withdrawal limits)
  • Transfers (Transfers can be within CUD accounts or other Shared Branch participants)
  • Loan Payments
  • Cashier Checks (May be a fee for this service)
  • Money Orders (May be a fee for this service)

Can’t Do…

  • Third Party Checks
  • Open or close accounts, CDs or Loans
  • Account Changes (address changes, name changes, etc….)
