This is Robin. She is a 6-year-old Border Collie. Our member Brooke was given Robin by a friend who felt she could provide her with a more fulfilling, active life. Brooke recently retired and had always wanted a dog of her own. Robin has some health issues which Brooke and a team of veterinarians are working hard to resolve. The good news is that they are making progress. For example, when Brooke adopted Robin, she had hemangiomas on the whites of her eyes that required surgery to remove. She now wears goggles that protect her eyes from UV during bright times of day.
Brooke, a dedicated fur baby mom, created a story of her own when she reached out to her friends, family, and a Border Collie Facebook group. The response was incredible! She explained that each year, Credit Union of Denver has a pet calendar contest to benefiting a local animal shelter. The group is international and now they all know about the good works we are doing here at the credit union. There was even one response, “I’m a CU of Denver member too!”. C·U·D has international notoriety! Congratulations to you and Robin as you are our 9th Annual Cover Pet!
A big THANK YOU goes out to Brooke and all the wonderful pet moms and dads out there who submitted the amazing photos for our 9th Annual Pet Calendar. Her story is a perfect example of “who rescued who?”. We love putting this together for our community; but for this to be truly a success, we need the calendars to be purchased.
