Colorado Gives Day is a 24-hour period of online giving and a movement to celebrate and encourage philanthropy throughout Colorado. It makes an impact on the local communities by lifting each other up and the supporting the causes that are near and dear to our hearts.
If you’re looking for an easy way to give back this holiday season, you can donate to your favorite Colorado nonprofit organizations this Colorado Gives Day. The 14th annual day of giving in the Centennial State lands on Tuesday, Dec. 5, beginning at midnight.
The day is powered by ColoradoGives.org – a year-round website featuring more than 3,400 nonprofits. The program encourages people to "give where you live" and allows people to choose nonprofits that appeal to their passions. Colorado Gives Day has raised more than $415 million since its launch in 2010, including more than $70 million in 2022. This year, Delta Dental is a corporate sponsor who is matching donations. This could make a huge difference!
Credit Union of Denver is a not-for-profit and we believe in the power of People Helping People and giving back to the community. Every year we participate in various fundraising and charity drives for organizations throughout the community.
This time of year is when our annual Community Pet Calendars are for sale, to raise money for Foothill’s Animal Shelter. We are going into our 11th year, and in the last 10 years we have raised $143,365.03, with all proceeds from sales going directly to the shelter!
Credit Union of Denver hosts several free events for our members, one of these events included our Shred Event. It was completely free to members, but we accepted donations for Children’s Hospital raising $2,120. During the Spring we fundraised for Children’s Hospital and with the help our of our members and community we donated $5,554.43 in May.
This Fall CUD staff worked together to create no sew blankets for the patients at Children's Hospital, and together we donated over 100 blankets!
As a company Credit Union of Denver supports and encourages employees to give back to their communities by volunteering and offers volunteer paid time off. We have employees that volunteer at various 501(c)(3) organizations, including Action Center and Food Bank of the Rockies.
Throughout the year we accept donations for different causes each quarter. We have collected donations for Action Center, Family Tree, and more. Some of these donations have included coat drives, canned food drives, and toy drives.
