Local Community Hangouts

Community is a big focus for Credit Union of Denver. We are locally based and enjoy participating in community events and engaging with our members. A strong community helps each other, which is why our philosophy is “people helping people”. In addition to offering financial education, we think sharing local places where people can gather together and have a good time makes the community stronger and smarter. Here is a list of some popular locations around the Lakewood area.

The 1UP Arcade Bar - Colfax

If you’re looking for drinks and entertainment, a popular local hangout is the 1UP Arcade Bar, located near Civic Center Park. It’s a club featuring dozens of classic arcade games and pinball machines, and live music acts. There you can find a variety of timeless video games including Defender, Donkey Kong, Mario Bros., Mortal Kombat, PacMan, and more. As well as several differently themed Pinball machines. 1UP can even host private parties for large groups. It’s a great place to connect with others through some friendly competition.

Death & Co.

If you’re looking for a classy old-world vibe, Death & Co Denver may be the place for you. Located in the RiNo neighborhood in The Ramble Hotel, they consider your visit an experience. Offering full-table service with a variety of dining area selections to choose from. Including DC/AM, Suite 6A, and The Gardens. They have unique menu choices from breakfast to dinner, depending on when you visit, and a variety of drink options. Perfect place to get dressed up and have a swanky time.

Bad Axe Throwing

If you’re in the mood for more of an activity than just food and drink, Bad Axe might be what you’re looking for. Located steps from The Fillmore Theater this venue boasts 7 axe throwing lanes, world class axe throwing instructors, and a great beer/wine menu. However, you can also bring your own food and this location has no age limit. They offer axe throwing games and are a part of the World Ax Throwing League. It’s a great place to gather with friends and have an outlet to relieve any built-up stress you may be carrying.

The Cruise Room

If you want to be transported back in time to the speakeasy era, consider visiting The Cruise Room, located inside the Oxford Hotel. Embodying the chic glamor of the prohibition era, this lounge is Denver’s longest-running bar since the day after the repeal in 1933. Boasting tasteful cocktails and an enticing menu of small plates. Enjoy the Art Deco vibes and transport back in time.

Punch Bowl Social

If you’re looking for somewhere to go during the day or at night, The Punch Bowl has you covered. Located in South Broadway with a scratch-kitchen menu, craft-beverage options, and various entertainment options. Set in what used to be a general store, you will find an industrial chic setting in Denver’s urban core. Activities available include karaoke, bowling, table games, shuffleboard, life-size Jenga, and old school arcade games. This is somewhere people of all ages can gather and have a good time.

Wherever you go to hangout, it’s always great to be involved in your community and support local businesses. These are just some of the places where you can connect with others and have a good time.
